Quality Care & Support

At Eastbury House, we understand that moving into a care home can be difficult – for the resident and for their family or friends. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and welcome to our home. We pride ourselves on the excellent, high‑quality, person‑centred care and support that focuses on dignity, comfort and independence. Our experienced and well-trained team of carers takes time to get to know each individual, their likes and dislikes, needs and routines, ensuring care is given with warmth, patience and compassion.

Whatever the needs we are seeking to meet, we always ensure a friendly face and reassuring presence. We promote a homely environment where every resident feels valued, supported and able to live life in the way that they wish. We want each resident to feel that this is their home - residents are free to bring any items that can fit in their room, pictures, photos, furniture and pets. Visitors are welcome any time that the resident is happy to receive them, and they are welcome to join their friend or family member for meals, refreshment or activities.

Before admission we Ensure that every prospective resident has their needs expertly assessed before a decision on admission is taken and we will demonstrate we are confident that we can meet their needs as assessed. We also offer trial visits or periods to prospective residents and avoid unplanned admissions except in cases of emergency. In the case of emergency admission essential information must be gathered as soon as possible, within 2 hours of admission with care plans, risk assessments and non-urgent items completed within 24 hours of admission.

Our Commitment to End-of-Life Care

Eastbury House is a specialist provider of End of Life care. We have been accredited with the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) since 2012 and we were runners up for the national Care Home of the Year award in 2025. Our End of Life Champions and GSF coordinators are Laura Sargent (Deputy Manager), and Tilly Biss (Care Manager). All staff members, from carers to cleaners are trained in the GSF and our ethos, particularly for care at the end of life. All care staff have in-depth training in the physical, holistic and wrap-around care of the dying and they have the support of End Of Life coordinators, Care Managers and Managers. We always:

  • Produce with each resident, a plan of care for if and when the time comes that they are unable to communicate their wishes to us (if this is their wish).
  • Ensure that our end of life care is complete and overarching, considering every aspect of the individual, wrapping them in gentle and appropriate care.
  • Ensure any symptoms are well-managed as a resident nears the end of their life, including seeking further support as necessary.
  • Support family and friends and provide information as required, ensuring their needs are also met – for contact, for time, for support and for physical needs such as comfort and meals.
  • Provide someone to stay with the dying resident at all times, if it is in accordance with their wishes.

24/7 Support

Our team is available around the clock, ensuring that residents receive continuous care, support, and comfort during this sensitive time. We work with families, as appropriate to ensure additional support for residents as they near their final days or hours, we provide one-to-one support and strive to create an environment where residents and their families find solace and peace. Families and friends are supported, meals and refreshments are freely and continuously made available and we will do our best to provide a rest space – we have a foldout bed, pillows and blankets and always a listening ear, at any hour.

Collaborative Care Approach

We work closely with local GP practices to establish a collaborative care approach. This partnership ensures that our care team and medical professionals coordinate effectively, providing responsive and tailored treatment plans for residents. The seamless collaboration enhances the quality of care and addresses the unique needs of each individual.

Supporting Families Every Step of the Way

Communication is key during such delicate times. Our team maintains open lines of communication with residents and their families, keeping them informed and involved in the care process. We understand the importance of providing support not just to residents but to their loved ones as well.

We encourage families to spend precious moments with their loved ones. Whether it's sharing stories, holding hands, or simply being present, we strive to create an environment that allows for meaningful connections during this sacred time.
